Psalm 107:17-19 Part 1 of 3

Some were fools; they rebelled

    and suffered for their sins.

They couldn't stand the thought of food,

    and they were knocking on death's door.

"LORD, help!" they cried in their trouble,

    and he saved them from their distress.

 

Some were fools;

Psalm 53:1  

Only fools say in their hearts,

    "There is no God."

They are corrupt, and their actions are evil;

    not one of them does good!  (see all Psalm 53)

Psalm 74:22  

Arise, O God, and defend your cause.

    Remember how these fools insult you all day long.  (see all Psalm 74)

Proverbs 10:23  

Doing wrong is fun for a fool,

    but living wisely brings pleasure to the sensible.

 

they rebelled 

Exodus 23:21  "Pay close attention to him (see verse 20), and obey his instructions. Do not rebel against him, for he is my representative, and he will not forgive your rebellion."  (see verses 20-33)

Numbers 17:10  And the LORD said to Moses: "Place Aaron's staff permanently before the Ark of the Covenant to serve as a warning to rebels. This should put an end to their complaint against me and prevent any further deaths."  (see all chapter 17)

Deuteronomy 9:7  "Remember and never forget how angry you made the LORD your God out in the wilderness. From the day you left Egypt until now, you have been constantly rebelling against him."  (see verses 7-29)

Deuteronomy 31:27  "For I  (Moses) know how rebellious and stubborn you are. Even now, while I am still alive and am here with you, you have rebelled against the LORD. How much more rebellious will you be after my death!"  (see verses 14-19)

Joshua 24:19  Then Joshua warned the people, "You are not able to serve the LORD, for he is a holy and jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins."  (see verses 14-28)

Psalm 78:7-8  

So each generation should set its hope anew on God,

    not forgetting his glorious miracles

    and obeying his commands.

Then they will not be like their ancestors--

    stubborn, rebellious, and unfaithful,

    refusing to give their hearts to God.

Psalm 78:40  

Oh, how often they rebelled against him in the wilderness

    and grieved his heart in that dry wasteland.

Psalm 78:56  

But they kept testing and rebelling against God Most High.
