Psalm 107:23-27 Part 1 of 3

Some went off to sea in ships,
    plying the trade routes of the world.
They, too, observed the LORD's power in action,
    his impressive works on the deepest seas.
He spoke, and the winds rose,
    stirring up the waves.
Their ships were tossed to the heavens
    and plunged again to the depths;
    the sailors cringing in terror.
They reeled and staggered like drunkards
    and were at their wits' end.

Some went off to sea in ships, plying the trade routes of the world.
Isaiah 42:10
Sing a new song to the LORD!
    Sing his praises from the ends of the earth!
Sing, all you who sail the seas,
    all you who live in distant coastlands.  (see verses 10-17)
Psalm 104:24-26
O LORD, what a variety of things you have made!
    In wisdom you have made them all.
    The earth is full of your creatures.
Here is the ocean, vast and wide,
    teeming with life of every kind,
    both large and small.
See ships sailing along,
    and Leviathan, which you made to play in the sea.  (see all Psalm 104)
Jonah 1:3  But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the LORD. He went down to the port of Joppa, where he found a ship leaving for Tarshish. He bought a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from the LORD by sailing to Tarshish.  (see verses 1-3)

They, too, observed the LORD's power in action, his impressive works on the deepest seas.
Psalm 64:9
Then everyone will be afraid;
    they will proclaim the mighty acts of God
    and realize all the amazing things he does.  (see all Psalm 64)
Psalm 111:2
How amazing are the deeds of the LORD!
    All who delight in him should ponder them.  (see all Psalm 111)
Psalm 143:5
I remember the days of old.
    I ponder all your great works
    and think about what you have done.  (see all Psalm 143)
