Luke 20:27-33 Part 1 of 2

Then Jesus was approached by some Sadducees--religious leaders who say there is no resurrection from the dead. They posed this question: "Teacher, Moses gave us a law that if a man dies, leaving a wife but no children, his brother should marry the widow and have a child who will carry on the brother's name. Well, suppose there were seven brothers. The oldest one married and then died without children. So the second brother married the widow, but he also died. Then the third brother married her. This continued with all seven of them, who died without children. Finally, the woman also died. So tell us, whose wife will she be in the resurrection? For all seven were married to her!"

Then Jesus was approached by some Sadducees
Matthew 16:1  One day the Pharisees and Sadducees came to test Jesus, demanding that he show them a miraculous sign from heaven to prove his authority.
Matthew 16:11-12  "Why can't you understand that I'm not talking about bread? (see verses 5-10) So again I say, 'Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.' " Then at last they understood that he wasn't speaking about the yeast in bread, but about the deceptive teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Acts 4:1-2  While Peter and John were speaking to the people, they were confronted by the priests, the captain of the Temple guard, and some of the Sadducees. These leaders were very disturbed that Peter and John were teaching the people that through Jesus there is a resurrection of the dead.
Acts 23:6-8  Paul realized that some members of the high council were Sadducees and some were Pharisees, so he shouted, "Brothers, I am a Pharisee, as were my ancestors! And I am on trial because my hope is in the resurrection of the dead!" This divided the council--the Pharisees against the Sadducees--for the Sadducees say there is no resurrection or angels or spirits, but the Pharisees believe in all of these.
