Luke 21:12-15 Part 1 of 2

"But before all this occurs, there will be a time of great persecution. You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will stand trial before kings and governors because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me. So don't worry in advance about how to answer the charges against you, for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you!"

Matthew 10:17-18a  "But beware! For you will be handed over to the courts and will be flogged with whips in the synagogues. You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers."

Mark 13:9a  "When these things begin to happen, watch out! You will be handed over to the local councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers."

Acts 8:3  But Saul was going everywhere to destroy the church. He went from house to house, dragging out both men and women to throw them into prison. (see also Acts 4:3, 5:17-18, 22:19-20)

Acts 12:1  About that time King Herod Agrippa began to persecute some believers in the church. (see verses 2-19)

Acts 16:22  A mob quickly formed against Paul and Silas, and the city officials ordered them stripped and beaten with wooden rods. (see verses 16-40, also 17:5-9, 18:12-27)

Acts 24:1  Five days later Ananias, the high priest, arrived with some of the Jewish elders and the lawyer Tertullus, to present their case against Paul to the governor. (see chapters 21:15-26:32, also chapters 27-28)

Philippians 1:12-14  And I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News. For everyone here, including the whole palace guard, knows I am in chains because of Christ. And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God's message without fear.

Matthew 10:18b  "But this will be your opportunity to tell the rulers and other unbelievers about me."

Mark 13:9b  "But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me."
