Luke 20:34-40 Part 2 of 3

Jesus replied, "Marriage is for people here on earth. But in the age to come, those worthy of being raised from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage. And they will never die again. In this respect they will be like angels. They are children of God and children of the resurrection. But now, as to whether the dead will be raised--even Moses proved this when he wrote about the burning bush. Long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, he referred to the Lord as 'the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' So he is the God of the living, not the dead, for they are all alive to him."  "Well said, Teacher!" remarked some of the teachers of religious law who were standing there. And then no one dared to ask him any more questions.

"And they will never die again. In this respect they will be like angels. They are children of God and children of the resurrection."
John 1:12  But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (see verses 1-13)
Romans 8:15-16  So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God's Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, "Abba, Father." For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God's children. (see all chapter 8)
1 John 3:1-2  See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don't recognize that we are God's children because they don't know him. Dear friends, we are already God's children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we shall see him as he really is.
Galatians 3:26  For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
1 Corinthians 15:52  It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. (see verses 1-58)
Revelation 21:7  "All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children." (see verses 3-7)
