Psalm 114:1-2

When the Israelites escaped from Egypt--

    when the family of Jacob left that foreign land--

the land of Judah became God's sanctuary,

    and Israel became his kingdom. 

 

Exodus 13:3a  So Moses said to the people, "This is a day to remember forever--the day you left Egypt, the place of slavery. Today the LORD has brought you out by the power of his mighty hand."  (see all Exodus 13)

Leviticus 26:13  "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the yoke of slavery from your neck so you can walk with your heads held high."

Psalm 80:10  

"For it was I, the LORD your God,

    who rescued you from the land of Egypt.

    Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things."

Exodus 19:4-6  " 'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself. Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. Exodus 29:45-46  "Then I will live among the people of Israel and be their God, and they will know that I am the LORD their God. I am the one who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I could live among them. I am the LORD their God."  (see Exodus 29:38-46) 

Exodus 15:17  

"You will bring them in and plant them on your own mountain--

    the place, O LORD, reserved for your own dwelling,

    the sanctuary, O LORD, that your hands have established."

Psalm 78:68-69  

He chose instead the tribe of Judah,

    and Mount Zion, which he loved.

There he built his sanctuary as high as the heavens,

Psalm 132:13-14  

For the LORD has chosen Jerusalem;

    he has desired it for his home.

"This is my resting place forever," he said.

    "I will live here, for this is the home I desired."  (see all Psalm 132)
