I love the LORD because he hears my voice
and my prayer for mercy.
Because he bends down to listen,
I will pray as long as I have breath.
Death wrapped its ropes around me;
the terrors of the grave over took me.
I saw only trouble and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the LORD:
"Please, LORD, save me!"
Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave over took me. I saw only trouble and sorrow.
Psalm 18:4-6
The ropes of death entangled me;
floods of destruction swept over me.
The grave wrapped its ropes around me;
death laid a trap in my path.
But in my distress I cried out to the LORD:
yes, I prayed to my God for help.
He heard me from his sanctuary;
my cry to him reached his ears. (see all Psalm 18)
Then I called on the name of the LORD: "Please, LORD, save me!"
Psalm 22:19-21
O LORD, do not stay far away!
You are my strength; come quickly to my aid!
Save me from the sword;
spare my precious life from these dogs.
Snatch me from the lion's jaws
and from the horns of these wild oxen. (see all Psalm 22)
Psalm 86:1-2
Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God. (see all Psalm 86)
Psalm 118:5 In my distress I prayed to the LORD,
and the LORD answered me and set me free. (see all Psalm 118)
Psalm 120:1
I took my troubles to the LORD;
I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer. (see all Psalm 120)
