Psalm 116:10-14 Part 1 of 2

I believed in you, so I said,
    "I am deeply troubled, LORD."
In my anxiety I cried out to you,
    "These people are all liars!"
What can I offer the LORD
    for all he has done for me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation
    and praise the LORD's name for saving me.
I will keep my promises to the LORD
    in the presence of all his people.

I believed in you, so I said, "I am deeply troubled, LORD."
Psalm 9:18
But the needy will not be ignored forever;
    the hopes of the poor will not always be crushed.  (see all Psalm 9)
Psalm 119:67
I used to wander off until you disciplined me;
    but now I closely follow your word.  (see Psalm 119:65-72)
2 Corinthians 4:13  But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, "I believed in God, so I spoke."  (see all 2 Corinthians 4)

In my anxiety I cried out to you, "These people are all liars!"
Jeremiah 9:3-6
"My people bend their tongues like bows
    to shoot out lies.
They refuse to stand up for the truth.
    They only go from bad to worse.
They do not know me,"
    says the LORD.
"Beware of your neighbor!
    Don't even trust your brother!
For brother takes advantage of brother,
    and friend slanders friend.
They all fool and defraud each other;
    no one tells the truth.
With practiced tongues they tell lies;
    they wear themselves out with their sinning.
They pile lie upon lie
    and utterly refuse to acknowledge me,"
    says the LORD.  (see all Jeremiah 9)
Hosea 7:13
"What sorrow awaits those who have deserted me!
    Let them die for they rebelled against me.
I wanted to redeem them,
    but they have told lies about me."  (see all Hosea 7)
Micah 6:11-12
"How can I tolerate your merchants
    who use dishonest scales and weights?
The rich among you have become wealthy
    through extortion and violence.
Your citizens are so used to lying
    that their tongues can no longer tell the truth."  (see all Micah 6)
