Psalm 116:15-19 Part 1 of 2

The LORD cares deeply

    when his loved ones die.

O LORD, I am your servant;

    yes, I am your servant, born into your household;

    you have freed me from my chains.

I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving

    and call on the name of the LORD.

I will fulfill my vows to the LORD

    in the presence of all his people--

in the house of the LORD

    in the heart of Jerusalem.

Praise the LORD. 

 

The LORD cares deeply when his loved ones die.

Psalm 72:14  

He will redeem them from oppression and violence,

    for their lives are precious to him.  (see all Psalm 72)

2 Kings 22:19-20  " 'You were sorry and humbled yourself before the LORD when you heard what I said against this city and its people--that this land would be cursed and become desolate. You tore your clothing in despair and wept before me in repentance. And I have indeed heard you, says the LORD. So I will not send the promised disaster until after you have died and been buried in peace. You will not see the disaster I am going to bring on this city.' "

    So they took her (Huldah's) message back to the king.  (see all 2 Kings 22)

Psalm 12:1  

Help, O LORD, for the godly are fast disappearing!

    The faithful have vanished from the earth!  (see all Psalm 12)

Isaiah 57:1-2  

Good people pass away;

    the godly often die before their time.

    But no one seems to care or wonder why.

No one seems to understand

    that God is protecting them from the evil to come.

For those who follow godly paths

    will rest in peace when they die.

 

O LORD, I am your servant; yes, I am your servant, born into your household; you have freed me from my chains. 

Psalm 86:16  

Look down and have mercy on me.

    Give your strength to your servant;

    save me, the son of your servant.  (see all Psalm 86)

Psalm 119:124-125  

I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love,

    and teach me your decrees.

Give discernment to me, your servant;

    then I will understand your laws.  (see Psalm 119:121-128)

Psalm 143:12  

In your unfailing love, silence all my enemies

    and destroy all my foes,

    for I am your servant.  (see all Psalm 143)
