Why let the nations say,
"Where is their God?"
Our God is in the heavens,
and he does as he wishes.
Their idols are merely things of silver and gold,
shaped by human hands.
They have mouths but cannot speak,
and eyes but cannot see.
They have ears but cannot hear,
and noses but cannot smell.
They have hands but cannot feel,
and feet but cannot walk,
and throats but cannot make a sound.
And those who make idols are just like them,
as are all who trust in them.
Why let the nations say, "Where is their God?"
Psalm 42:13

Why should the pagan nations be allowed to scoff,
asking, "Where is their God?"
Show us your vengeance against the nations,
for they have spilled the blood of your servants. (see all Psalm 79)
Joel 2:17
Let the priests, who minister in the LORD's presence,
stand and weep between the entry room to the Temple and the altar.
Let them pray, "Spare your people, LORD!
Don't let your special possession become an object of mockery.
Don't let them become a joke for unbelieving foreigners who say,
'Has the God of Israel left them?' " (see Joel 2:1-17)
Our God is in the heavens, and he does what he wishes.
Psalm 103:19
The LORD has made the heavens his throne;
from there he rules over everything. (see all Psalm 103)

throughout all heaven and earth,
and on the seas and in their depths. (see all Psalm 135)
Daniel 4:35
"All the people of the earth
are nothing compared to him.
He does as he pleases
among the angels of heaven
and among the people of the earth.
No one can stop him or say to him,
'What do you mean by doing these things?' " (see all Daniel 4)
