Luke 2:25-26 Part 2 of 2

At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord's Messiah.

Isaiah 40:1-2  "Comfort, comfort my people," says your God. "Speak tenderly to Jerusalem. Tell her that her sad days are gone and her sins are pardoned. Yes, the LORD has punished her twice over for all her sins."

Isaiah 52:9  Let the ruins of Jerusalem break into joyful song, for the LORD has comforted his people. He has redeemed Jerusalem. 

Romans 8:23  And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.

1 Thessalonians 1:10  And they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of God's own Son from heaven--Jesus, whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment.

Hebrews 9:28  ... so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.

The Holy Spirit was upon him and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen 

Psalm 89:48  No one can live forever; all will die. No one can escape the power of the grave.

John 8:51  "I tell you the truth, anyone who obeys my teaching will never die!"

Hebrews 11:5  It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying--"he disappeared, because God took him." [Genesis 5:24]

Luke 9:20  Then he asked them, "But who do you say I am?" Peter replied, "You are the Messiah sent from God!" 

John 1:41  Andrew went to find his brother, Simon, and told him, "We have found the Messiah" (which means "Christ").

John 20:31  But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.

Acts 5:42  And every day, in the Temple and from house to house, they continued to teach and preach this message: "Jesus is the Messiah."
