Luke 2:49-50

"But why did you need to search?" he asked. "Didn't you know that I must be in my Father's house?" But they didn't understand what he meant.

 

"Didn't you know that I must be in my Father's house?" 

John 2:16  Then going over to the people who sold doves, he told them, "Get these things out of here. Stop turning my Father's house into a marketplace!" 

John 14:2  "There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?"

Psalm 23:6  Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.

Isaiah 56:7  "I will bring them to my holy mountain of Jerusalem and will fill them with joy in my house of prayer. I will accept their burnt offerings and sacrifices, because my Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations."

Jeremiah 7:11  " 'Don't you yourselves admit that this Temple, which bears my name, has become a den of thieves? Surely I see all the evil going on there. I, the LORD have spoken!' "

Matthew 21:13  He said to them, "The Scriptures declare, 'My Temple will be called a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves!" (also Mark 11:17)

 

But they didn't understand what he meant. 

Luke 9:45  But they didn't know what he meant. It's significance was hidden from them, so they couldn't understand it, and they were afraid to ask him about it. (see verses 43-44) 

John 12:16  His disciples didn't understand at the time that this was a fulfillment of prophecy. But after Jesus entered into his glory, they remembered what had happened and realized that these things had been written about him. (see verses 12-14)
