Luke 2:33-35 Part 4 of 5

Jesus' parents were amazed at what was being said about him. Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, the baby's mother, "This child is destined to cause many in Israel to fall, but he will be a joy to many others. He has been sent as a sign from God, but many will oppose him. As a result, the deepest thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your very soul."

"As a result, the deepest thoughts of many hearts will be revealed."
Genesis 6:5  The LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.
Jeremiah 17:9  "The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?"
Matthew 9:4  Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he asked them, "Why do you have such evil thoughts in your hearts?"
Matthew 10:26  "But don't be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all."
Mark 4:22  "For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light."
Luke 8:17  "For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and be made known to all."
1 Corinthians 4:5  So don't make judgments about anyone ahead of time--before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.
Hebrews 4:12  For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
