Luke 6:12-16 Part 4 of 4

One day soon afterward Jesus went up on a mountain to pray, and he prayed to God all night. At daybreak he called together all of his disciples and chose twelve of them to be apostles. Here are their names: Simon (whom he named Peter); Andrew (Peter's brother), James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James (son of Alphaeus), Simon (who was called the zealot), Judas (son of James), Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him).

Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew,
John 1:43  The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Come, follow me."
John 1:45  Philip went to look for Nathanael [Bartholomew] and told him, "We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth."
John 1:47-48  As they approached, Jesus said, "Now here is a genuine son of Israel--a man of complete integrity."  "How do you know about me?" Nathanael asked. Jesus replied, "I could see you under the fig tree before Philip found you."
Matthew 9:9  As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector's booth. "Follow me and be my disciple," Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him.
Mark 2:14  As he walked along, he saw Levi [Matthew] son of Alphaeus sitting at his tax collector's booth. "Follow me and be my disciple," Jesus said to him. So Levi got up and followed him. [also Luke 5:27]

Thomas, James (son of Alphaeus), Simon (who was called the zealot),
John 20:24-25  One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came. They told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he replied, "I won't believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side." [Jesus came eight days later to prove to Thomas, the true reality of his death and resurrection.]

Judas (son of James), Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him).
John 14:22  Judas (not Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) [Jude, Thaddeus] said to him, "Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?"
John 13:26  Jesus responded, "It is the one to whom I give the bread I dip in the bowl." And when he had dipped it, he gave it to Judas, son of Simon Iscariot..
