Luke 6:39-42 Part 1 of 2

Then Jesus gave the following illustration: "Can one blind person lead another? Won't they both fall into a ditch? Students are not greater than their teacher. But the student who is fully trained will become like the teacher. And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying, 'Friend, let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,' when you can't see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in  your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend's eye."

"Can a blind person lead another? Won't they both fall into a ditch?"

Matthew 15:14  "... They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch."

 

"Students are not greater than their teacher." 

Matthew 10:24  "Students are not greater than their teacher, and slaves are not greater than their master."

John 13:16  "I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message." 

John 15:20  "Do you remember what I told  you? 'A slave is not greater than the master.' Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you."

 

"But the student who is fully trained will become like the teacher." 

Matthew 10:25  "Students are to be like their teacher, and slaves to be like their master. And since I, the master of the household, have been called the prince of demons, the members of my household will be called by even worse names!"

1 Corinthians 1:10  I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.

2 Corinthians 13:11  Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you. 

2 Timothy 3:16-17  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
