Luke 6:20-23 Part 1 of 3

Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said, "God blesses you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is yours. God blesses you who are hungry now, for you will be satisfied. God blesses you who weep now, for in due time you will laugh. What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, their ancestors treated the ancient prophets the same way."

Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said, "God blesses you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is yours."

Matthew 25:34  "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.' "

Matthew 5:3  "God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs."

Matthew 19:14  But Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children."

Luke 12:32  "So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom."

James 2:5  Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn't God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith? Aren't they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him?

"God blesses you who are hungry now, for you will be satisfied."

Isaiah 55:1-2  "Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink--even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk--it's all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food."

Matthew 5:6  "God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied."

"God blesses you who weep now, for in due time you will laugh." 

Isaiah 25:8  He will swallow up death forever! The Sovereign LORD will wipe away all tears. He will remove forever all insults and mockery against his land and people. The LORD has spoken!

Matthew 5:4  "God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

Revelation 7:17  "For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes."
