Luke 6:46-49 Part 1 of 2

"So why do you keep calling me 'Lord, Lord!' when you don't do what I say? I will show you what it's like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the flood waters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built. But anyone who hears and doesn't obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins."

"So why do you keep calling me 'Lord, Lord!' "
Malachi 1:6a  The LORD of Heaven's Armies says to the priests: "A son honors his father, and a servant respects his master. If I am your father and master, where are the honor and respect I deserve? You have shown contempt for my name!"
Matthew 7:21  "Not everyone who calls out to me, 'Lord, Lord!' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter."
Luke 2:11  "The Savior--yes, the Messiah, the Lord--has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!"
Acts 10:36  "This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel--that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all."
Romans 10:9  If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 14:8-9  If we live, it's to honor the Lord. And if we die, it's to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Christ died and rose again for this very purpose--to be Lord of the living and of the dead.
Philippians 2:9-11  Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Colossians 2:6  And now, just as you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.
