Habakkuk 1:12-13 Part 1 of 2

O LORD my God, my Holy One, you who are eternal--surely you do not plan to wipe us out? O LORD, our Rock, you have sent these Babylonians to correct us, to punish us for our many sins. But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. Will you wink at their treachery? Should you be silent while the wicked swallow up people more righteous than they?

O LORD, my God, my Holy One, you who are eternal--
Genesis 21:33  Then Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he worshiped the LORD, the Eternal God. (see verses 22-34)
2 Kings 19:22  "Whom have you (King Sennacherib of Assyria) been defying and ridiculing? Against whom did you raise your voice? At whom did you look with such haughty eyes? It was the Holy One of Israel!" (see all chapter 19, also Isaiah 37)
Isaiah 1:4  "Oh, what a sinful nation they are--loaded down with a burden of guilt. They are evil people, corrupt children who have rejected the LORD. They have despised the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him." (see all chapter 1)
Isaiah 31:1  What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the LORD, the Holy One of Israel. (see all chapter 31)
Isaiah 40:28  Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depth of his understanding.

surely you do not plan to wipe us out?
Malachi 3:6  "I am the LORD, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed." (see verses 6-15)

O LORD, our Rock, you have sent these Babylonians to correct us, to punish us for our many sins.
Deuteronomy 32:4  "He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!" (see verses 1-43, the Song of Moses)
1 Samuel 2:2  "No one is like the LORD! There is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God." (see verses 1-11, Hannah's prayer)
2 Samuel 22:47  "The LORD lives! Praise to my Rock! May God, the Rock of my salvation, be exalted!" (see all chapter 22, David's song of praise)
Psalm 18:2  The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. (see all chapter 18, David's song to the LORD on the day the LORD rescued him from all his enemies and from Saul)
Isaiah 26:4  Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD God is the eternal Rock.
Isaiah 30:29  But the people of God will sing a song of joy, like the songs at the holy festivals. You will be filled with joy, as when a flutist leads a group of pilgrims to Jerusalem, the mountains of the LORD--to the Rock of Israel.
Isaiah 44:8  "Do not tremble; do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim my purposes for you long ago? You are my witnesses--is there any other God? No! There is no other Rock--not one!"
