Habakkuk 1:3-4 Part 1 of 2

Must I forever see these evil deeds? Why must I watch all this misery? Wherever I look, I see destruction and violence. I am surrounded by people who love to argue and fight. The law has become paralyzed, and there is no justice in the courts. The wicked far outnumber the righteous, so that justice has become perverted.

Habakkuk 1:13  But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. Will you wink at their treachery? Should you be silent while the wicked swallow up people more righteous than they?

Job 9:24  "The whole earth is in the hands of the wicked, and God blinds the eyes of the judges. If he's not the one who does it, who is?" (see verses 1-35)

Job 24:1  "Why doesn't the Almighty bring the wicked to judgment? Why must the godly wait for him in vain?" (see verses 1-25)

Psalm 64:4  They shoot from ambush at the innocent, attacking suddenly and fearlessly. (see verses 1-10)

 

Wherever I look, I see destruction and violence. 

Psalm 11:5  The LORD examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates those who love violence. (see verses 1-7)

Psalm 55:11  Everything is falling apart; threats and cheating are rampant in the streets. (see verses 1-11)

Jeremiah 20:8  When I speak, the words burst out. "Violence and destruction!" I shout. So these messages from the LORD have made me a household joke. (see verses 1-11)

 

I am surrounded by people who love to argue and fight. 

Psalm 59:6-7  They come out at night, snarling like vicious dogs as they prowl the streets. Listen to the filth that comes from their mouths; their words cut like swords. "After all, who can hear us?" they sneer. (see verses 1-17)

Isaiah 5:20  What sorrow for those who say that evil is good, and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter. (see verses 8-30)

Jeremiah 6:6-7  This is what the LORD of Heaven's Armies says: "Cut down the trees for battering rams. Build siege ramps against the walls of Jerusalem. This city is to be punished, for she is wicked through and through. She spouts evil like a fountain. Her streets echo with the sounds of violence and destruction. I always see her sickness and sores." (see verses 1-15)

Ezekiel 7:11  "Their violence has grown into a rod that will beat them for their wickedness. None of these proud and wicked people will survive. All their wealth and prestige will be swept away." (see verses 1-13)
