By this time they were nearing Emmaus and the end of their journey.
Jesus acted as if he were going on, but they begged him, "Stay the night
with us, since it is getting late." So he went home with them. As they
sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and
gave it to them. Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized
him. And at that moment he disappeared!

Matthew 14:15 That evening the disciples came to him and said, "This is a remote place, and it's already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves." (see also Mark 6:35-36, Luke 9:12)
As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them.
Matthew 14:19 Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people. (see also Mark 6:41, 8:6, Luke 9:16)
Matthew 26:26 As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take this and eat it, for this is my body." (see also Mark 14:22, Luke 22:19)
1 Corinthians 11:23-24 For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this to remember me." (see verses 23-26)
Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared!
Luke 4:28-30 When they heard this (see verses 22-27), the people in the synagogue were furious. Jumping up, they mobbed him and forced him to the edge of the hill on which the town was built. They intended to push him over the cliff, but he passed right through the crowd and went on his way.
Luke 24:14-16 As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened. As they walked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them. But God kept them from recognizing him.
