GIMEL
Be good to your servant,
that I may live and obey your word.
Open my eyes to see
the wonderful truths in your instructions.
I am only a foreigner in the land.
Don't hide your commands from me!
I am always overwhelmed
with a desire for your regulations.
You rebuke the arrogant,
those who wander from your commands are cursed.
Don't let them scorn and insult me,
for I have obeyed your laws.
Even princes sit and speak against me,
but i will meditate on your decrees.
Your laws please me,
they give me wise advice.
I am always overwhelmed with a desire for your regulations.
Psalm 42:1-2
As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.
I thirst for God, the living God.
When can I go and stand before him? (see all Psalm 42)
Psalm 84:2
I long, yes I faint with longing
to enter the courts of the LORD.
With my whole being, body and soul,
I will shout joyfully to the living God. (see all Psalm 84)
Psalm 119:131
I pant with expectation,
longing for your commands. (see Psalm 119:129-136)
Psalm 63:1
O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water. (see all Psalm 63)
Isaiah 26:8-9
LORD, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws;
our heart's desire is to glorify your name.
In the night I search for you;
in the morning I earnestly seek you.
For only when you come to judge the earth
will people learn what is right. (see all Isaiah 26)
