GIMEL
Be good to your servant,
that I may live and obey your word.
Open my eyes to see
the wonderful truths in your instructions.
I am only a foreigner in the land.
Don't hide your commands from me!
I am always overwhelmed
with a desire for your regulations.
You rebuke the arrogant,
those who wander from your commands are cursed.
Don't let them scorn and insult me,
for I have obeyed your laws.
Even princes sit and speak against me,
but i will meditate on your decrees.
Your laws please me,
they give me wise advice.
Don't let them scorn and insult me, for I have obeyed your laws.
Psalm 39:8
Rescue me from my rebellion. Do not let fools mock me. (see all Psalm 39)
Psalm 79:4
We are mocked by our neighbors,
an object of scorn and derision to those around us.
Psalm 79:12
O LORD, pay back our neighbors seven times
for the scorn they have hurled at you. (see all Psalm 79)
Psalm 119:2
Joyful are those who obey his laws
and search for him with all their hearts. (see Psalm 119:1-8)
Even princes sit and speak against me, but I will meditate on your decrees.
Psalm 119:161
Powerful people harass me without cause,
but my heart trembles only at your word. (see Psalm 119:161-168)
Jeremiah 18:18
Then the people said, "Come on, let's plot a way to stop Jeremiah. We have plenty of priests and wise men and prophets. We don't need him to teach us the word and give us advice and prophesies. Let's spread rumors about him and ignore what he says." (see all Jeremiah 18)
Malachi 2:9
"So I have made you despised and humiliated in the eyes of all the people. For you have not obeyed me but have shown favoritism in the way you carry out my instructions." (see Malachi 2:1-9)
