Psalm 119:9-16 Part 2

How can a young person stay pure?

    By obeying your word.

I have tried hard to find you--

    don't let me wander from your commands.

I have hidden your word in my heart,

    that I might not sin against you.

I praise you, O LORD;

    teach me your decrees.

I have recited aloud

    all the regulations you have given us.

I have rejoiced in your laws

    as much as in riches.

I will study your commandments

    and reflect on your ways.

I will delight in your decrees

    and not forget your word. 

 

I have tried hard to find you--

1 Chronicles 28:9 

"And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever."

Proverbs 8:17  

"I (Wisdom) love all who love me.

    Those who search will surely find me."  (see all Proverbs 8)

Isaiah 55:6  

Seek the LORD while you can find him.

    Call on him now while he is near.  (see Isaiah 55:6-9)

Matthew 7:7  

"Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you."

Psalm 119:176  

I have wandered away like a lost sheep;

    come find me,

    for I have not forgotten your commands.

Ephesians 4:18  

Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him.  (see Ephesians 4:17-32)

1 Timothy 6:10  

For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.  (see 1 Timothy 6:3-10)
