Luke 5:1-3

One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God. He noticed two empty boats at the water's edge, for fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon, its owner, to push it out into the water. So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there.

Mark 4:14  "The farmer plants seed by taking God's word to others."

Luke 11:28  Jesus replied, "But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice."

Acts 4:31  After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.

Acts 12:24  Meanwhile, the word of God continued to spread, and there were many new believers.

1 Thessalonians 2:13  Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn't think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God--which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.

2 Timothy 2:9  And because I preach this Good News, I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained.

1 Peter 1:23  For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.

1 John 2:14  I have written to you who are God's children because you know the Father. I have written to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I have written to you who are young in the faith because you are strong. God's word lives in your hearts, and you have won your battle with the evil one.

Revelation 1:1-2  This is a revelation from Jesus Christ which God gave him to show his servants the events that must soon take place. He sent an angel to present this revelation to his servant John, who faithfully reported everything he saw. This is his report of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 1:9  I, John, am your brother and your partner in suffering and in God's Kingdom and in the patient endurance to which Jesus calls us. I was exiled to the island of Patmos for preaching the word of God and for my testimony about Jesus.

So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there. 

Matthew 13:2  A large crowd soon gathered around him, so he got into a boat. Then he sat there and taught as the people stood on the shore.
