In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with an advanced case of leprosy. When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed. "Lord," he said, "if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean." Jesus reached out and touched him. "I am willing," he said. "Be healed!" And instantly the leprosy disappeared. Then Jesus instructed him not to tell anyone what had happened. He said, "Go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed."
"Lord," he said, "if you are willing you can heal me and make me clean."
Matthew 8:2 Suddenly a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. "Lord," the man said, "if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean." (also Mark 1:40)
Jesus reached out and touched him. "I am willing," he said, "Be healed!"
Matthew 8:3 Jesus reached out and touched him. "I am willing," he said. "Be healed!" And instantly the leprosy disappeared. (also Mark 1:41-42)
Then Jesus instructed him not to tell anyone what had happened.
Matthew 12:15-16 But Jesus knew what they were planning. So he left that area, and many people followed him. He healed all the sick among them, but he warned them not to reveal who he was.
Matthew 16:20 Then he sternly warned the disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.
"Go to the priest and let him examine you."
Luke 17:12-14 As he entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance, crying out, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" He looked at them and said, "Go show yourselves to the priests." And as they went they were cleansed of their leprosy.
"Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy."
Leviticus 14:2-4 "The following instructions are for those seeking ceremonial purification from a skin disease. Those who have been healed must be brought to the priest who will examine them at a place outside the camp. If the priest finds that someone has been healed of a serious skin disease, he will perform a purification ceremony, using two live birds that are ceremonially clean, a stick of cedar, some scarlet yarn, and a hyssop branch."
