Luke 5:30-32 Part 2 of 2

But the Pharisees and their teachers of religious law complained bitterly to Jesus' disciples, "Why do you eat and drink with such scum?" Jesus answered them, "Healthy people don't need a doctor--sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent."

Luke 15:7  "In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away!"

Luke 15:10  "In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God's angels when even one sinner repents."

John 3:17  "God sent his son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him."

1 Timothy 1:15-16  This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners"--and I am the worst of them all. But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.

Job 42:5-6  "I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance."

Acts 3:19  "Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away."

Revelation 2:5  "Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If you don't repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among the churches."

Revelation 16:9-11  Everyone was burned by this blast of heat, and they cursed the name of God, who had control over all these plagues. They did not repent of their sins and turn to God and give him glory. Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was plunged into darkness. His subjects ground their teeth in anguish, and they cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores. But they did not repent of their evil deeds and turn to God.
