Luke 5:27-29

Later, as Jesus left the town, he saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at his tax collector's booth. "Follow me and be my disciple," Jesus said to him. So Levi got up, left everything and followed him. Later, Levi held a banquet in his home with Jesus as the guest of honor. Many of Levi's fellow tax collectors and other guests also ate with them.

Later, as Jesus left the town, he saw a tax collector
Matthew 5:46  "If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much."
Matthew 11:19  "The Son of Man, on the other hand, feasts and drinks and you say, 'He's a glutton and a drunkard, and a friend of tax collectors and other sinners!' But wisdom is shown to be right by its results."

Matthew 9:9  As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew (Levi) sitting at his tax collector's booth. "Follow me and be my disciple," Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him.
Mark 2:14  As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at his tax collector's booth. "Follow me and be my disciple," Jesus said to him. So Levi got up and followed him.
Matthew 4:19  Jesus called out to them, "Come follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!"
Mark 10:21  Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. "There is still one thing you haven't done," he told him. "Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
John 1:43  The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Come, follow me."
Luke 5:10-11  His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed. Jesus replied to Simon, "Don't be afraid! From now on you'll be fishing for people!" And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus.

Many of Levi's fellow tax collectors and other guests also ate with them. 
Luke 15:1-2  Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach. This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people--even eating with them!
