Malachi 4:2-3 Part 1 of 2

"But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. On the day when I act, you will tread upon the wicked as if they were dust under your feet," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies.

"But for you who fear my name,"

"the Sun of Righteousness"

Isaiah 45:8
        "Open up, O heavens,
            and pour out your righteousness.
        Let the earth open wide
so salvation and righteousness can sprout up together.
I, the LORD, created them." (see all chapter 45)
Luke 1:78-79
        "Because of God's tender mercy,
the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us,
to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
and to guide us to the path of peace." (see verses 67-79)
Ephesians 5:13-14  But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said,
        "Awake, O sleeper,
            rise up from the dead,
and Christ will give you light." (see verses 1-14)

Malachi 4:1 Part 2 of 2

The LORD of Heaven's Armies says, "The day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace. On that day the arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw. They will be consumed--roots, branches and all."

"On that day the arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw. They will be consumed--roots, branches and all."
Isaiah 1:31  The strongest among you will disappear like straw; their evil deeds will be the spark that sets it on fire. They and their evil works will burn up together, and no one will be able to put out the fire. (see verses 21-31)
Isaiah 5:24  Therefore, just as fire licks up stubble and dry grass shrivels in the flame, so their roots will rot and their flowers wither. For they have rejected the law of the LORD of Heaven's Armies; they have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. (see all chapter 5)
Isaiah 31:9  "Even the strongest will quake with terror, and princes will flee when they see your battle flags," says the LORD, whose fire burns in Zion, whose flame blazes from Jerusalem. (see all chapter 31)

Matthew 3:10  "Even now the ax of God's judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire." (see verses 7-12)
2 Peter 3:5-7  They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.
2 Peter 3:10-12  But the day of the LORD will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. (see all chapter 3)

Malachi 3:13-15 Part 2 of 2

"You have said terrible things about me," says the LORD.
"But you say, 'What do you mean? What have we said against you?'
"You have said, 'What's the use of serving God? What have we gained by obeying his commands or by trying to show the LORD of Heaven's Armies that we're sorry for our sins? From now on we will call the arrogant blessed. For those who do evil get rich, and those who dare God to punish them suffer no harm.' "

        (see verses 8-15)

"What makes you think I want all your sacrifices?"
            says the LORD
"I am sick of your burnt offerings of rams
and the fat of fattened cattle.
I get no pleasure from the blood
of bulls and lambs and goats.
When you come to worship me,
who asked you to parade through my courts with all your ceremony?
        Stop bringing me your meaningless gifts;
the incense of your offerings disgusts me!
As for your celebrations of the new moon and the Sabbath
and your special days for fasting--
they are all sinful and false.
I want no more of your pious meetings.
I hate your new moon celebrations and
            your annual festivals.
They are a burden to me, I cannot
            stand them!" (see verses 10-17)
Isaiah 58:3
" 'We have fasted before you!' they say.
            'Why aren't you impressed?
We have been very hard on ourselves,
and you don't even notice it!'
I will tell you why!" I respond.
"It's because you are fasting to please yourselves.
        Even while you fast,
you keep oppressing your workers." (see verses 1-9)

Malachi 3:10-12 Part 2 of 2

"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies, "I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies. "Then all nations will call you blessed, for your land will be such a delight," says the LORD of Heaven's armies.

"Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies.

Galatians 3:8-9  What's more, the Scriptures looked forward to this time when God would make the Gentiles right in his sight because of their faith. (Genesis 12:3, 18:18, 22:18)" So all who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith. (see verses 6-9)

"Should people cheat God?"

Nehemiah 13:10-12  I also discovered that the Levites had not been given their prescribed portions of food, so they and the singers who were to conduct the worship services had all returned to work in their fields. I immediately confronted the leaders and demanded, "Why has the Temple of God been neglected?" Then I called the Levites back again and restored them to their proper duties. And once more all the people of Judah began bringing their tithes of grain, new wine, and olive oil to the Temple storerooms. (see verses 1-14)
Luke 18:11-12  "The Pharisee stood by  himself and prayed this prayer: 'I thank you, God, that I am not like other people--cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I am certainly not like that tax collector! I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.' " (see verses 9-14)

for I have paid the price to set you free." (see verses 21-28)

Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel? I don't want you to die, says the Sovereign LORD. Turn back and live!" (see verses 23-32)

"and I will return to you," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies.
Zechariah 1:2-4  "I, the LORD, was very angry with your ancestors. Therefore, say to the people, 'This is what the LORD of Heaven's Armies says: Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of Heaven's Armies.' " (see verses 1-6)
