Malachi 3:4-5 Part 2 of 2

"Then once more the LORD will accept the offerings brought to him by the people of Judah and Jerusalem, as he did in the past.

At that time I will put you on trial. I am eager to witness against all the sorcerers and adulterers and liars. I will speak against those who cheat employees of their wages, who oppress widows and orphans, or who deprive the foreigners living among you of justice, for these people do not fear me," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies.

Leviticus 19:13  "Do not defraud or rob your neighbor. Do not make your hired workers wait until the next day to receive their pay." (see verses 9-16)

James 5:4  For listen! Hear the cries of the field workers whom you have cheated of their pay. The cries of those who harvest your fields have reached the ears of the LORD of Heaven's Armies. (see verses 1-5)

Exodus 22:21-22  "You must not mistreat or oppress foreigners in any way. Remember, you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt. You must not exploit a widow or an orphan." (see verses 18-31)

Deuteronomy 24:19  "When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don't go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do." (see verses 10-22)

Ezekiel 22:6-9  "Every leader in Israel who lives within your walls is bent on murder. Fathers and mothers are treated with contempt. Foreigners are forced to pay for protection. Orphans and widows are wronged and oppressed among you. You despise my holy things and violate my Sabbath days of rest. People accuse others falsely and send them to their death. You are filled with idol worshipers and people who do obscene things." (see all chapter 22)

"for these people do not fear me," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies. 

Deuteronomy 31:12  "Call them all together--men, women, children, and the foreigners living in your towns--so they may hear this Book of Instruction and learn to fear the LORD your God and carefully obey all the terms of these instructions." (see verses 1-13)

Isaiah 1:1-3  These are the visions that Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. He saw these visions during the years when Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were kings of Judah.

        Listen, O heavens! Pay attention, earth!

            This is what the LORD says:

        "The children I raised and cared for

            have rebelled against me.

        Even an ox knows its owner,

            and a donkey recognizes its master's care--

        but Israel doesn't know its master.

            My people don't recognize my care for them." (see all chapter 1)
