Are we not all children of the same Father? Are we not all created by the same God? Then why do we betray each other, violating the covenant of our ancestors?
Are we not all children of the same Father?
Exodus 4:22
"Then you will tell him, 'This is what the LORD says: Israel is my firstborn son.' " (see verses 18-28)
Joshua 24:3 "But I took your ancestor Abraham from the land beyond the Euphrates and led him into the land of Canaan. I gave him many descendants through his son Isaac." (see verses 1-28)
Jeremiah 31:9 "Tears of joy will stream down their faces, and I will lead them home with great care. They will walk beside quiet streams and on smooth paths where they will not stumble. For I am Israel's father, and Ephraim is my oldest child." (see verses 1-14)
Matthew 5:16 "In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." (see verses 3-16, also Matthew 6:4, 18)
Luke 11:2 Jesus said, "This is how you should pray: Father, may your name be kept holy. May your kingdom come soon." (see verses 1-13)
1 Corinthians 8:6 But as for us,
There is one God, the Father,
by whom all things were created,
and for whom we live.
And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ,
through whom all things were created,
and through whom we live. (see all chapter 8)
Are we not all created by the same God?
Job 4:17 " 'Can a mortal be innocent before God? Can anyone be pure before the Creator?' " (see verses 12-21)
Isaiah 43:1 But now, O Jacob, listen to the LORD who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine." (see verses 1-13)
Then why do we betray each other,
Exodus 19:5 " 'Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.' " (see verses 3-6)
2 Kings 17:4-5 But the Israelites would not listen. They were as stubborn as their ancestors who had refused to believe in the LORD their God. They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and they despised all his warnings. They worshiped worthless idols, so they became worthless themselves. They followed the example of the nations around them, disobeying the LORD's command not to imitate them. (see verses 5-23)
Jeremiah 3:32 "This covenant will not be like the one I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt. They broke that covenant, though I loved them as a husband loves a wife." (see verses 27-40)
violating the covenant of our ancestors?
Zephaniah 3:3-4 Its leaders are like roaring lions hunting for their victims. Its judges are like ravenous wolves at evening time, who by dawn have left no trace of their prey. Its prophets are arrogant liars seeking their own gain. Its priests defile the Temple by disobeying God's instructions. (see verses 1-8)
