Malachi 2:7-9 Part 2 of 3

"The words of a priest's lips should preserve knowledge of God, and people should go to him for instruction, for the priest is the messenger of the LORD of Heaven's Armies. But you priests have left God's paths. Your instructions have caused many to stumble into sin. You have corrupted the covenant I made with the Levites," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies. "So I have made you despised and humiliated in the eyes of all the people. For you have not obeyed me but have shown favoritism in the way you carry out my instructions."

Matthew 11:10  "John is the man to whom the Scriptures refer when they say, 'Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way before you.' (Malachi 3:1)" (see verses 2-15)

Mark 1:1-3  This is the Good News about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God. It began just as the prophet Isaiah had written: "Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way. He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the LORD's coming! Clear the road for him!' (Isaiah 40:3-5)" (see verses 1-11)

Nehemiah 13:29  Remember them, O my God, for they have defiled the priesthood and the solemn vows of the priests and Levites. (see verses 23-31)

Isaiah 9:16  For the leaders of the people have misled them. They have led them down the path of destruction. (see verses 8-21)

Jeremiah 18:15  "But my people are not so reliable, for they have deserted me; they burn incense to worthless idols. They have stumbled off the ancient highways and walk in muddy paths." (see verses 5-17)

Ezekiel 44:10  "And the men of the tribe of Levi who abandoned me when Israel strayed away from me to worship idols must bear the consequences of their unfaithfulness." (see verses 6-14)

"Your instructions have caused many to stumble into sin." 

Jeremiah 33:20-21  "This is what the LORD says: If you can break my covenant with the day and the night so that one does not follow the other, only then will my covenant with my servant David be broken. Only then will he no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne. The same is true for my covenant with the Levitical priests who minister before me." (see all chapter 33)

Ezekiel 22:26-27  "Your priests have violated my instructions and defiled my holy things. They make no distinction between what is holy and what is not. And they do not teach my people the difference between what is ceremonially clean and unclean. They disregard my Sabbath days so that I am dishonored among them. Your leaders are like wolves who tear apart their victims. They actually destroy people's lives for money!" (see all chapter 22)
