Jesse ("firm, a gift") was the son of Obed.

Obed ("serving, worshiping") was the son of Boaz.

Boaz ("swiftness") was the son of Salmon.

Salmon ("peaceable, perfect, he that rewards") was the son of Nahshon.

33. Nahshon ("he that foretells, conjectures") was the son of Amminadab

Amminadab ("my people is liberal") was the son of Admin.

Admin ("elevated, sublime") was the son of Arni.

Arni ("high") was the son of Hezron.

Hezron ("dart of joy, division of the song") was the son of Perez.

Perez ("breach, burst forth") was the son of Judah.

34. Judah ("praise") was the son of Jacob.

Jacob ("holder of the heel, supplanter") was the son of Isaac.

Isaac ("he will laugh") was the son of Abraham.

Abraham ("father of many") was the son of Terah.

Terah ("wanderer, to breathe") was the son of Nahor.

Serug ("branch, layer, twining") was the son of Reu.

Peleg ("division, channel") was the son of Eber.

Eber ("one that passes, anger") was the son of Shelah.

36. Shelah ("petition, request") was the son of Cainan.

Cainan ("possessor, purchaser") was the son of Arphaxad.

Arphaxad ("healer, releaser") was the son of Shem.

Shem ("name, renown") was the son of Noah.

Noah ("rest, repose") was the son of Lamech.

37. Lamech ("to make law, the strikerdown, the wild man") was the son of Methuselah.

Methuselah ("man of the dart, his death sends") was the son of Enoch.

Enoch ("dedicated, disciplined") was the son of Jared.

Jared ("a ruling, commanding, coming down") was the son of Mahalalel.

Mahalalel ("praising God") was the son of Kenan.

38. Kenan ("possession, buyer, owner") was the son of Enosh.

Enosh ("mortal man, sick, despaired of, forgetful") was the son of Seth.

Seth ("placed, appointed") was the son of Adam.

Adam ("son of the red earth, one from the soil, beginning") was the son of God.

Genesis 5:1-2  This is the written account of the descendants of Adam. When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself. He created them male and female, and he blessed them and called them "human".
