Luke 4:5-8 Part 2 of 2

Then the devil took him up and revealed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. "I will give you the glory of these kingdoms and authority over them," the devil said, "because they are mine to give to anyone I please. I will give it all to you if you will worship me." Jesus replied, "The Scriptures say, 'You must worship the LORD your God and serve only him.' "

John 12:31  "The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world will be cast out."

John 14:30-31  "I don't have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches. He has no power over me, but I will do what the Father requires of me, so that the world will know that I love the Father. Come, let's be going."

John 16:11  "Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged."

2 Corinthians 4:4  Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

Ephesians 2:2  You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil--the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.

1 John 4:4  But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

1 John 5:19  We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one.

 

Jesus replied, "The Scriptures say, 'You must worship the LORD your God and serve only him." 

Deuteronomy 6:13  "You must fear the LORD your God and serve him. When you take an oath, you must use only his name."

Deuteronomy 10:12  "And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the LORD your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul."

Joshua 22:5  "But be very careful to obey all the commands and instructions that Moses gave you. Love the LORD your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul."
