Psalm 89: 46-48 Part 2 of 2

O LORD, how long will this go on?
    Will you hide yourself forever?
    How long will your anger burn like fire?
Remember how short my life is,
    how empty and futile this human existence!
No one can live forever; all will die.
    No one can escape the power of the grave.

No one can live forever; all will die. No one can escape the power of the grave.
Genesis 5:23-24  Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.  (see verses 21-24)
Hebrews 11:5  It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying--"He disappeared, because God took him." For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God.  (see all chapter 11)
2 Kings 2:11-12  As they were walking along and talking, suddenly a chariot of fire appeared, drawn by horses of fire. It drove between the two men separating them, and Elijah was carried away by a whirlwind into heaven. Elisha saw it and cried out, "My father! My father! I see the chariots and the charioteers of Israel!" And as they disappeared from sight, Elisha tore his clothes in distress. (see all chapter 2)
Psalm 49:15
But as for me, God will redeem my life.
    He will snatch me from the power of the grave.  (see all Psalm 49)
Psalm 116:3-6
Death wrapped its ropes around me;
    the terrors of the grave overtook me.
    I saw only trouble and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the the LORD:
    "Please, LORD, save me!"
How kind the LORD is! How good he is!
    So merciful, this God of ours!
The LORD protects those of childlike faith;
    I was facing death and he saved me.  (see all Psalm 116)
