Psalm 89:30-33

"But if his descendants forsake my instructions

    and fail to obey my regulations,

if they do not obey my decrees

    and fail to keep my commands,

then I will punish their sin with the rod,

    and their disobedience with beating.

But I will never stop loving him

    nor fail to keep my promise to him."

2 Samuel 7:12-16  " 'For when you (David) die and are buried with your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, your own offspring (Solomon), and I will make his kingdom strong. He is the one who will build a house--a temple--for my name. And I will secure his royal throne forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he sins, I will correct and discipline him with the rod, like any father would do. But my favor will not be taken from him as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from your sight. Your house and your kingdom will continue before me for all time, and your throne will be secure forever.' "

2 Samuel 7:25  "And now, O LORD God, I am your servant; do as you have promised concerning me and my family. Confirm it as a promise that will last forever."  (see all chapter 7)

1 Kings 9:6-7  "But if you (Solomon) or your descendants abandon me and disobey the commands and decrees I have given you, and if you serve and worship other gods, then I will uproot Israel from this land that I have given them. I will reject this Temple that I have made holy to honor my name. I will make Israel an object of mockery and ridicule among the nations."  (see verses 1-9) 

1 Kings 11:11-12  So now the LORD said to him, "Since you have not kept my covenant and have disobeyed my decrees, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your servants. But for the sake of your father, David, I will not do this while you are still alive. I will take the kingdom away from your son."  (see verses 1-13)

2 Chronicles 21:7  But the LORD did not want to destroy David's dynasty, for he had made a covenant with David and promised that his descendants would continue to rule, shining like a lamp forever.  (see all chapter 21)
