Luke 17:22-25 Part 2 of 2

Then he said to his disciples, "The time is coming when you will long to see the day when the Son of Man returns, but you won't see it. People will tell you, 'Look, there is the Son of Man,' or 'Here he is,' but don't go out and follow them. For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so it will be on the day when the Son of Man comes. But first the Son of Man must suffer terribly and be rejected by this generation."

"People will tell you, 'Look, there is the Son of Man,' or 'Here he is,' but don't go out and follow them."

Matthew 24:23  "Then if anyone tells you, 'Look, here is the Messiah,' or 'There he is,' don't believe it" (see verses 23-26, also Mark 13:21-23)

Luke 21:8  He replied, "Don't let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Messiah,' and saying, 'The time has come!' But don't believe them."

Matthew 24:27  "For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes." 

Luke 12:40  "You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected." (see verses 35-48)

1 Corinthians 1:7-8  Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.

Luke 18:31-32  Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus said, "Listen, we're going up to Jerusalem, where all the predictions of the prophets concerning the Son of Man will come true. He will be handed over to the Romans, and he will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit upon." (see verse 33, also Matthew 16:21, 26:47-68, Mark 10:32-34)

John 19:1-3  Then Pilate had Jesus flogged with a lead tipped whip. The soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they put a purple robe on him. "Hail! King of the Jews!" they mocked, as they slapped him across the face. (see verses 18:1-19:42, also Matthew 26:36-27:66, Mark 14:32-15:47, Luke 22:39-23:56)
