Luke 17:5-6 Part 3 of 3

The apostles said to the Lord, "Show us how to increase our faith." The Lord answered, "If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, 'May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,' and it would obey you!"

The Lord answered, "If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed,"
Matthew 17:20  "You don't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible." (see verses 14-20, also Mark 11:22-25 and Matthew 21:18-22)
Matthew 13:31-32  Here is another illustration Jesus used: "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches." (see also Luke 13:19)
Mark 2:3-5  ... four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. They couldn't bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, "My child, your sins are forgiven." (see verses 1-12)
Mark 4:40  Then he asked them, "Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?" (see verses 35-41)
Mark 16:14  Still later he appeared to the eleven disciples as they were eating together. He rebuked them for their stubborn unbelief because they refused to believe those who had seen him after he had been raised from the dead.

"You could say to this mulberry tree, 'May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,' and it would obey you!"
Mark 9:23  "What do you mean, "If I can'?" Jesus asked. "Anything is possible if a person believes." (see verses 14-29)
1 Corinthians 13:2  If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God's secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn't love others, I would be nothing. (see chapter 13)
James 1:5-7  If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
