Luke 18:18-21 Part 1 of 3

Once a religious leader asked Jesus this question: "Good Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?"  "Why do you call me good?" Jesus asked him. "Only God is truly good. But to answer your question, you know the commandments: 'You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother.' " The man replied, "I've obeyed all these commandments since I was young."

Once a religious leader asked Jesus this question: "Good Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?"
Matthew 19:16  Someone came to Jesus with this question: "Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?" (see verses 16-26)
Matthew 25:34  "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.' " (see verses 31-46)
Mark 10:17  As Jesus was starting out on his way to Jerusalem, a man came running up to him, knelt down, and asked, "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
Luke 10:25  One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: "Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?" (see verses 25-37)

"Why do you call me good?" Jesus asked him. "Only God is truly good."
John 5:21-23  "For just as the Father gives life to those he raises from the dead, so the Son gives life to anyone he wants. In addition, the Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge, so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him." (see verses 16-30)
John 5:24-27  "I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. And I assure you that the time is coming, indeed it's here now, when the dead will hear my voice--the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live. The Father has life in himself, and he has granted that same life-giving power to his Son. And he has given him authority to judge everyone because he is the Son of Man."
