Luke 15:14-19 Part 2 of 3

"About the time his money ran out a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything. When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, 'At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, "Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant." ' "

"He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs."

Matthew 7:6  "Don't waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don't throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you."
Matthew 8:30  There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding in the distance. So the demons begged, "If you cast us out, send us into that herd of pigs." (see verses 28-42, see also Mark 5:1-20)

"The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything."
Luke 16:21  "As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich man's table, the dogs would come and lick his sores." (see verses 19-31)
Matthew 15:27  She replied, "That's true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters' table." (see verses 21-28)

"When he finally came to his senses,"
Acts 12:9-11  So Peter left the cell, following the angel. But all the time he thought it was a vision. He didn't realize it was actually happening. They passed the first and second guard posts and came to the iron gate leading to the city, and this opened for them all by itself. So they passed through and started walking down the street, and then the angel suddenly left him. Peter finally came to his senses. "It's really true!" he said. "The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!" (see verses 1-19)
