Luke 15:20-24 Part 1 of 3

"So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. His son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.' But his father said to the servants, 'Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.' So the party began."

Genesis 45:14-15  Weeping with joy, he embraced Benjamin, and Benjamin did the same. Then Joseph kissed each of his brothers and wept over them, and after that they began talking freely with him.

Genesis 33:4  Then Esau ran to meet him (Jacob) and embraced him, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. And they both wept.

2 Samuel 14:33  So Joab told the king what Absalom had said. Then at last David summoned Absalom, who came and bowed low before the king, and the king kissed him. (see 2 Samuel 13:1-19:15)

Acts 20:36-38  When he (Paul) had finished speaking, he knelt and prayed with them (the elders of the church at Ephesus). They all cried as they embraced and kissed him good-bye. They were sad most of all because he had said that they would never see him again. Then they escorted him down to the ship. (see verses 13-38)

James 4:7-8  So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands,  you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. (see verses 1-17)
