Luke 15:14-19 Part 3 of 3

"About the time his money ran out a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything. When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, 'At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, "Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant." ' "

Exodus 10:16-17  Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron. "I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you." he confessed. "Forgive my sin, just this once, and plead with the LORD your God to take away this death from me." (see verses 1-20, for all the plagues see chapters 7-12)

Leviticus 26:40  "But at last my people will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors for betraying me and being hostile toward me." (see verses 14-46)

1 Kings 8:47  "But in that land of exile they might turn to you in repentance and pray, 'We have sinned, done evil, and acted wickedly.' " (see verses 22-53)

Matthew 3:1-2  In those days John the Baptist came to the Judean wilderness and began preaching. His message was, "Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near."

Luke 7:6-8  So Jesus went with them. But just before they arrived at the house, the officer sent some friends to say, "Lord, don't trouble yourself by coming to my home, for I am not worthy of such an honor. I am not even worthy to come and meet you. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, 'Go,' and they go, or 'Come,' and they come. And if I say to my slaves, 'Do this,' they do it." (see verses 1-10)
