Luke 21:16-19 Part 2 of 3

"Even those closest to you--your parents, brothers, relatives, and friends--will betray you. They will even kill some of you. And everyone will hate you because you are my followers. But not a hair of your head will perish! By standing firm, you will win your souls."

"And everyone will hate you because you are my followers."

Isaiah 66:5  Hear this message from the LORD, all you who tremble at his words: "Your own people hate you and throw you out for being loyal to my name. 'Let the LORD be honored!' they scoff. 'Be joyful in him!' But they will be put to shame."

Matthew 5:10-11  "God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because  you are my followers."

Mark 13:13a  "And everyone will hate you because you are my followers."

Luke 6:22-23  "What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, their ancestors treated the ancient prophets that same way."

John 15:18-19  "If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you."

Acts 5:41  The apostles left the high council rejoicing that God had counted them worthy to suffer disgrace for the name of Jesus.

1 Peter 4:14  So be happy when you are insulted for being a Christian, for then the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you. (see verses 12-19)

Revelation 2:3  "You have patiently suffered for me without quitting." (see verses 1-7)
