Luke 22:35-38

Then Jesus asked them, "When I sent you out to preach the Good News and you did not have money, a traveler's bag, or an extra pair of sandals, did you need anything?"  "No," they replied. "But now," he said, "take your money and a traveler's bag. And if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one! For the time has come for this prophecy about me to be fulfilled: 'He was counted among the rebels.' Yes, everything written about me by the prophets will come true."  "Look, Lord," they replied, "we have two swords among us."  "That's enough," he said.

Matthew 10:9-10  "Don't take any money in your money belts--no gold, silver, or even copper coins. Don't carry a traveler's bag with a change of clothes and sandals or even a walking stick. Don't hesitate to accept hospitality, because those who work deserve to be fed." (see also Mark 6:8, Luke 9:3, 10:4)

 

"But now," he said, "take your money and a traveler's bag. And if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one!"  

Matthew 10:34-36  "Don't imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword. 'I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. Your enemies will be right in your own households! "For the time has come for this prophecy about me to be fulfilled: 'He was counted among the rebels.' Yes, everything written about me by the prophets will come true. 

Isaiah 53:12  I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

Matthew 27:38  Two revolutionaries were crucified with him, one on his right and the other on his left. (see also Mark 15:27, Luke 23:32, John 19:18)

Luke 24:44  Then he said, "When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled." Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. (see verses 13-49)

Luke 13:33  "Yes, today, tomorrow, and the next day I must proceed on my way. For it wouldn't do for a prophet of God to be killed except in Jerusalem!"

 

"Look, Lord," they replied, "we have two swords among us."  "That's enough," he said. 

Luke 22:49-50  When the other disciples saw what was about to happen, they exclaimed, "Lord, should we fight? We brought the swords!" And one of them struck at the high priest's slave, slashing off his right ear. (see also Matthew 26:51, Mark 14:47, John 18:10)
