James 4:15-17

What you ought to say is, "If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that." Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil. Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

What you ought to say is, "If the Lord wants us to, we live and do this or that."
Acts 18:20-21  They asked him (Paul) to stay longer, but he declined. As he left, however, he said, "I will come back later, God willing." Then he set sail from Ephesus. (see verses 18-23)
Romans 1:10  One of the things I always pray for is the opportunity, God willing, to come at last to see you. (see verses 8-17)
Romans 15:32  Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other. (see verses 23-33)
1 Corinthians 4:9  Instead, I sometimes think God has put us apostles on display, like prisoners of war at the end of a victor's parade, condemned to die. We have become a spectacle to the entire world--to people and angels alike. (see all chapter 4)

Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil.
1 Corinthians 5:6  Your boasting about this is terrible. Don't you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough? (see all chapter 5)

Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.
Luke 12:47-48  "And a servant who knows what the master wants, but isn't prepared and doesn't carry out those instructions, will be severely punished. But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required." (see verses 35-48)
John 9:41  "If you were blind, you wouldn't be guilty," Jesus replied. "But you remain guilty because you claim you can see." (see verses 35-41)
2 Peter 2:21  It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life. (see all chapter 2)
