James 4:6-7 Part 1 of 2

But he gives us even more grace to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say, "God opposes the proud but favors the humble." So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Isaiah 54:7-8  "For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with great compassion I will take you back. In a burst of anger I turned my face away for a little while. But with everlasting love I will have compassion on you," says the LORD, your Redeemer. (see all chapter 54)
Matthew 13:12  "To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them." (see verses 1-23)

Psalm 18:27  You rescue the humble, but you humiliate the proud. (see verses 25-36)
Proverbs 3:34  The LORD mocks the mockers but is gracious to the humble. (see verses 21-35)
1 Samuel 2:8  "He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor. For the earth is the LORD's, and he has set the world in order." (see verses 1-11)
Isaiah 57:15  The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: "I live in a high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts." (see verses 14-21)
Matthew 23:12  "But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." (see all chapter 23)
Luke 1:52  "He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble." (see verses 46-56)
Luke 14:11  "For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." (see verses 7-14)
1 Peter 5:5  In the same way, you younger men must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, serve each other in humility, for "God opposes the proud but favors the humble." (see verses 1-11)
