But he gives us even more grace to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say, "God opposes the proud but favors the humble." So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Ephesians 4:26-27  And "don't sin by letting anger control you." (Psalm 4:4) Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil. (see verses 17-32)

Ephesians 6:11  Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all the strategies of the devil. (see verses 10-20)

1 Corinthians 10:13  The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. (see verses 1-13)

Luke 4:13  When the devil had finished tempting Jesus he left him until the next opportunity came. (see verses 1-15)

1 Peter 5:6-11  So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are. In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.
