James 5:13

Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises.

Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray.
Psalm 50:15  "Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory."
Matthew 21:22  "You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it." (see verses 18-22; also Mark 11:24)
Acts 10:31  "He told me, 'Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been noticed by God!" (see all chapter 10)
Romans 12:12  Rejoice in confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. (see all chapter 12)
Ephesians 6:18  Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. (see verses 10-20)
Philippians 4:6  Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. (see verses 2-9)
Colossians 4:2  Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.

Are any of you happy? You should sing praises.
Psalm 18:49  For this, O LORD, I will praise you among the nations; I will sing praises to your name. (see verses 46-50)
Psalm 47:6  Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises! (see all Psalm 47)
Psalm 147:1  Praise the LORD! How good to sing praises to our God! How delightful and how fitting! (see all Psalm 147)
Romans 15:9-11  He also came so that the Gentiles might give glory to God for his mercies to them. That is what the psalmist meant when he wrote: "For this, I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing praises to your name." (Psalm 18:49) And in another place it is written, "Rejoice with his people, you Gentiles." (Deuteronomy 32:43) And yet again, "Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles. Praise him, all you people of the earth." (Psalm 117:1)
